Global energy firm ExxonMobil plans to begin physical deliveries of LNG and liquefied biomethane (LBM) using two chartered bunker vessels.

One vessel will be chartered from UK-based supplier Avenir LNG and is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2027, while the second vessel will be chartered from Greek operator Evalend Shipping and is expected to join by the fourth quarter of 2027.
“Supportive policies and rising demand for LNG in marine transportation are creating opportunities,” the company said.
ExxonMobil has not yet confirmed where the LNG bunker vessels will be deployed.
It currently supplies conventional fuel grades and bio-bunker blends in Singapore and ports along the UK’s south coast and the wider ARA region via barges, according to its website.
It also supplies conventional bunker fuels in Hong Kong’s Tsing Yi Island via barge and ex-wharf deliveries as well as at ports across New Zealand via trucks and pipeline.
“We’re preparing for a multifuel future that helps meet society’s growing needs for energy and essential products, while helping to reduce GHG emissions,” said Amy Wood, ExxonMobil’s global lower emission fuels manager.
