LNG Bunker Snapshot: Rotterdam’s price declines on warm weather
Rotterdam’s LNG bunker price has fallen on warm weather, while Singapore’s price has remained stable.
Weekly changes in LNG bunker prices:
- Rotterdam down by $22/mt to $710/mt
- Singapore down by $1/mt at $722/mt
Rotterdam
Rotterdam’s LNG bunker price has fallen by $22/mt over the past week, settling at $710/mt. The decline is mainly linked to a 3% drop in the front-month Dutch TTF Natural Gas contract, a key benchmark for European gas prices.
“Rising storage levels amid following several weeks of mild summer weather led to falling prices, with the falling concerns about reduced global gas supply from Russia contributing to the bearish development,” said Mind Energy, formerly known as Energi Danmark.
Gas prices “recorded a weekly decline as falls across the oil market dragged global gas prices lower,” ANZ Bank’s senior commodity strategist Daniel Hynes noted.
The LNG bunker delivery premium also fell by 4% over the past week to around $127/mt, adding further downward pressure on prices.
Singapore
Singapore’s LNG bunker price has remained unchanged from the previous week, in line with a stable front-month NYMEX Japan/Korea Marker (JKM), which generally guides Asian LNG bunker prices.
Consequently, Singapore’s slight $9/mt discount to Rotterdam last week has shifted to a $12/mt premium over the past week.
