Bunkering operations have resumed in Area 4 off Malta on Monday, according to port agent MH Bland, after operations were suspended a day earlier due to adverse weather conditions.

Operations in other bunkering areas remain suspended, the port agent told ENGINE.

Wind gusts of 24 knots and 28 knots are forecast to blow from the northwest on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, according to MH Bland. Weather is expected to improve by Wednesday.

Area 4 lies to the island’s southeast and is relatively less affected, a trader said.

However, laden tankers still cannot receive bunkers at Area 4 due to regulations, as the zone lies too close to shore, MH Bland added.
