Standby vessels are ships that remain ready near offshore operations to provide emergency support and services.

The vessels, LNG Sentinel I and LNG Sentinel II, can run on both LNG and diesel.

Built by Hong Kong's Cheoy Lee Shipyards and designed by naval architect Robert Allan, these vessels are intended for the Hong Kong LNG Terminal.

These vessels will help maintain a safety zone around the terminal and assist with berthing of LNG carriers. They will also be used to transport personnel and equipment between Hong Kong, the FSRU, and the jetty. Their standby duties include emergency towing, firefighting, spill response, and rescue.
