Rough weather causes suspension at Durban’s Maydon Wharf Terminal

Durban

Rough winds have forced suspension of all vessel movements at Durban’s busy Maydon Wharf Terminal, Transnet National Port Authority said in an alert.

North-easterly gusts of more than 25 knots are forecast in the port throughout the evening.

The port authority has also sent a separate weather alert for bad weather for 15 November, when southerly wind gusts of around 30 knots and waves up to 3.5 metres are expected to hit the port.

This could further lead to congestion at the port and may cause delays in bunkering once the weather improves.
