B100 drops against VLSFO in Rotterdam

B100 price rises in Singapore

LBM widens cost advantage to B100 for low-slip engines

All bunker prices mentioned below have been adjusted for calorific contents to make them VLSFO-equivalent. They have estimated EU-EU voyage compliance costs included for Rotterdam, and non-EU-EU compliance costs included for Singapore. These account for EU ETS costs and FuelEU Maritime penalties, and our estimated compliance surplus values for FuelEU pooling. Rotterdam's B100 and LBM prices also factor in Dutch HBE rebates for advanced liquid and gaseous biofuels sold in the Netherlands.

Rotterdam's B100 discounts to VLSFO and LSMGO have widened by $5-6/mt to $192/mt and $369/mt, respectively.

B100 is also at $97–253/mt discounts to LNG in Rotterdam, depending on engine type.

In Singapore, B100’s premium over VLSFO has widened by $10/mt in the past week to $463/mt.

Liquefied biomethane (LBM) is now $80/mt cheaper than B100 when used in dual-fuel engines with low methane slips, a $32/mt greater discount than last week.

LBM’s discounts to fossil LNG have remained steady at $173–177/mt in Rotterdam.

LNG is priced $44/mt and $25/mt above VLSFO in Rotterdam and Singapore, respectively, when used in Otto medium-speed engines. But it shifts to $95/mt and $40/mt discounts in the same ports when used in diesel medium-speed engines.

Liquid fuels

Rotterdam’s VLSFO price has fallen by $9/mt, while its B100 price has dropped by a bigger $14/mt over the past week.

VLSFO deliveries require a notice of 5-7 days for coverage from a good selection of suppliers in Rotterdam, a trader said.

Hydrotreated vegetable oil-based biofuel (HVO100) was indicated at $1,975/mt in Sweden last week, a source told ENGINE. HVO is available for prompt delivery, while fatty acid methyl ester (FAME)-based B100 is available with slightly longer lead times, the source added.

In Singapore, VLSFO has remained almost steady and declined $2/mt on the week, while its B100 price has increased by $9/mt.

VLSFO availability in Singapore has tightened despite "slow" bunker demand. Lead times have increased from 7–10 days to 8–14 days in the past week, a trader said.

Liquid gases

Rotterdam’s LNG bunker prices have decreased by $12–46/mt in the past week, depending on engine type and methane slip.

The prices have been weighed down by “milder” weather conditions in Europe and expectations of a global supply increase after the Golden Pass LNG project started up in Texas, US.

Last week, Spanish energy firm Molgas delivered LBM to a UECC container ship in the Port of Le Havre. Molgas also announced it has completed its acquisition of Dutch LNG supplier Titan Clean Fuels to expand its LNG and LBM bunkering network in Europe.

Singapore’s LNG bunker prices have declined by $1-18/mt in the past week.
