Bunker fuel supplier Burando Energies has delivered multiple B100 stems of unspecified quantities to several Teekay Tankers vessels across the ARA region.

“The B100 supplied consisted entirely of residues originating from fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) production,” the company’s head of decarbonisation strategies, Nick de Haan told ENGINE. He added that lead times recommended for this fuel are around 4-5 days.
The deliveries were carried out using barges.
Earlier this year, Burando trialled B30, a blend of 30% biofuel and 70% conventional fuel, on Teekay vessels to assess operational feasibility.
“Now, just months later, we've scaled up to a fully renewable marine fuel, commercially delivered, operationally proven, and fully certified,” the company said in a statement.
