London-based marine fuel producer KPI OceanConnect is also a partner in this project, EcoCeres said.
This supply marks EcoCeres’ first HVO shipment in Singapore. The company did not disclose the name of the cruise line, or the vessel receiving the cargo.
The delivery was carried out by an IMO Type II chemical tanker owned by Global Energy, EcoCeres added.
The renewable fuel has been derived “exclusively from pure waste materials,” EcoCeres said. It is expected to mitigate 1,477 tons of CO2 equivalent in emissions when compared to conventional marine fuels, the company remarked.
