Fujairah bunker sales grew by 11% in March
Increased sales of VLSFO, LSMGO and HSFO contributed to push Fujairah’s total bunker sales higher in March than in February, according to data compiled by Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ) and S&P Global Commodity Insights.

Changes in Fujairah bunker fuel sales from February to March:
- Total sales up by 11% to 689,000 mt
- VLSFO sales up by 14% to 460,000 mt
- HSFO sales up by 3% to 196,000 mt
- LSMGO sales up by 20% to 32,000 mt
Sales of the most sought-after product, VLSFO, surged by 55,000 mt to 460,000 mt in March - the highest since December 2022. Around 15,000 mt/day of VLSFO was sold in March, sharply up from nearly 14,000 mt/day sold in the shorter February month. In the same time period, both LSMGO and HSFO sales rose by around 5,000 mt to 32,000 mt and 196,000 mt, respectively.
The port’s total bunker sales in the first three months of this year were 13% higher compared to the same period last year.
Fujairah bunker sales in March split by fuel grade
Fuel grade share of total sales in March (compared to the year to date):
- 67% VLSFO 380cst (66% YTD)
- 0.13% VLSFO 180cst (0.11% YTD)
- 29% HSFO (30% YTD)
- 4% LSMGO (4% YTD)
- 0.04% 0.50% MGO (0.03% YTD)
