The company will offer physical supplies of VLSFO, LSMGO, and HSFO in the Northern European region, a representative from the company told ENGINE.
These new operations will enhance Peninsula’s port coverage, further strengthening its already significant presence in the ARA hub, Skaw and Copenhagen.
Bunker deliveries will be made using two seagoing bunker tankers, with one already in operation.
Unlike the inland barges used in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Antwerp, these are deep-sea vessels. One barge features a shallow draft, ideal for navigating the UK's east coast, while the other has a variable pitch propeller for better maneuverability, crucial for efficiently supplying ferries with short port stays, the company added.
