First bio-methanol bunkering conducted in Hong Kong

The fuel was transferred via a ship-to-ship (STS) operation, marking Hong Kong’s first bio-methanol bunkering.

During the operation, China Merchants Energy Shipping’s methanol dual-fuel roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) vessel CM Hong Kong received 500 mt of bio-methanol from the dual-fuel methanol-powered bunkering vessel Da Qing 268 in Hong Kong. The bunkering vessel is managed by Hong Kong-headquartered Wah Kwong Ship Management.

The fuel was produced by Chinese manufacturer CIMC ENRIC and supplied by bunker supplier Sinopec (Hong Kong) Petroleum.
