Fujairah bunker sales declined by 6% in September
Lower HSFO and LSMGO sales contributed to drag Fujairah’s total bunker sales down by 6% in September.
Changes in Fujairah bunker fuel sales from August to September:
- Total sales down by 6% to 605,000 mt
- VLSFO sales up by 2% to 436,000 mt
- HSFO sales down by 22% to 145,000 mt
- LSMGO sales down by 23% to 23,000 mt
HSFO sales dropped significantly by 41,000 mt, reaching 145,000 mt in September - the lowest since June 2023, according to data compiled by Fujairah Oil Industry Zone (FOIZ) and S&P Global Commodity Insights.
Around 5,000 mt/day of HSFO was sold in September, about 1000 mt/day less than 6,000 mt/day sold in August. LSMGO sales also fell by 7,000 mt to 23,000 mt.
In contrast, VLSFO, the most in-demand product, saw an increase of 8,000 mt, bringing total sales to 436,000 mt in September.
Overall, bunker sales in the first nine months of the year were 4% higher compared to the same period last year.
Fuel grade share of total sales in September (compared to the year to date):
- 72% VLSFO 380cst (68% YTD)
- 0.15% VLSFO 180cst (0.13% YTD)
- 24% HSFO (28% YTD)
- 4% LSMGO (4% YTD)
- 0.03% of 0.50% MGO (0.03% YTD)
