Strong southwesterly wind gusts of more than 30 knots led the Gibraltar Port Authority to suspend all inbound traffic to the port on yesterday. Inbound traffic is now being allowed to proceed to pilot stations, shipping agent A Mateos & Sons told ENGINE, citing an alert from the Gibraltar Port Authority.
Around 10 vessels are currently awaiting bunkers, up from just three before the suspension yesterday. Most suppliers are now facing 4–8-hour delays, compared to only one supplier running behind schedule before the suspension, port agent MH Bland said.
Around 14 vessels are expected to call for bunkers at the port today, according to A. Mateos & Sons.
